This is me ;)
This year-round nature club has a range of seasonal activities and each week, there is a different theme to explore.
The structure, with a strong emphasis on flexibility, of the day is agreed on by the group (and the weather forecast).
Background
This Club has been a long time coming, and has been in the dreaming, planning, developing stage for a good few years.
And now it’s the action stage. Have a look at my Facebook and Instagram for photos - the shelter, the creativity, and current states of play!
It started really in 2018 when I started using the Exploring Nature With Children developed and written by Lynn Seddon, with my eldest. I felt like I had been reintroduced to nature and a spark was relit. I can’t thank Lynn enough for creating such a gem of a resource. A significant part of this club has been inspired by it. I love it. We will be using parts of it, but the club and the activities have been adapted and developed for adults.
Also, in 2018, I did my Forest School Level 1 as part of my learning about approaches and risks.
Little bit about me
I have worked in social care for 27 years and I’ve had the privilege of supporting, managing, inspecting and auditing services for and with a wide range of different people with all sorts of abilities and needs.
In April 2022 I completed my Grow Leaders course with Grow Wilder which taught me how to facilitate and coordinate community groups within horticulture settings.
Using my skills, passions, interests and opportunity I’m creating this club.
Trusting the timing of my life, I am starting this venture and hoping you’ll join me!
