Important Stuff

  • Any questions, no matter how small or big - please contact me.

  • This is a club for adults with learning disabilities, and/or have common mental health needs* at primary care level or well managed secondary care, and neurodivergent adults. Everyone has their own abilities and individual needs. Please contact me to discuss your own needs - what works for you, what doesn’t. Ask a supporter to help you do this on your behalf if you need to.

  • The No1 Nature Club won’t be registered with The Care Quality Commission as personal care is not offered or provided, nor is it registered with Ofsted to support children. Although there is no inspector calling, I strive for best practice at all times, every day. I have worked in social care for a long time and understand why ‘things’ need to be properly in place to safeguard both you, me and The Club. Important aspects of health and safety, safeguarding you/us are included in the start-up pack.

  • I am part of the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Update Service for working with adults, which can be checked. I also have a current Enhanced DBS for working with children. Both show no record of convictions, cautions, warnings, or reprimands.

  • It’ll cost £72 for the day. For a 6-hour day, this works out at £12 per hour. Please note that funding needs to be in place when you sign up (this can either be through a social worker or you can self-fund.)

  • This club can be part of someone’s

    • day care provision,

    • support in the community,

    • reducing isolation, social activity, increasing confidence and self-esteem,

    • getting ready for work,

    • respite for carers/supporters/families, and/or

    • to simply be part of a cool ‘club’!

  • Transport arrangements can be discussed depending on where you live.

  • If you decide this club is for you, we’ll go through the policies and procedures so we have agreed expectations and understanding. We will have a contract between us to avoid any confusion or issues.

  • There are no other employees. Depending on the group’s range of support needs, the ratio is 3:1 or 4:1 maximum.

  • The Club is open for 3 days a week. As this club is new, and I’m building it up - I’m flexible in which days at the moment.

  • Mornings can vary for people so the club will be open from 09.30 with a ‘start’ time at 10.00 - 16.00, with a close by 16.15.

  • Regular feedback from you will be really important for the Club.

  • Unless we are going on a field trip, you won’t need any cash during the day.

  • You’ll need to bring a packed lunch (preferably healthy and nutritious) and some snacks. You can keep things in the fridge.

  • Some days we’ll cook e.g. soup or baked potatoes, cakes, bread. If you’d like this, there’ll be a small charge to cover the costs.

  • I am not affiliated with any marketing/sales. Shout outs to lush people/organisations on social media to share the love are inevitable though! I use Facebook and Instagram for sharing and promotional purposes.

  • Consent to use identifiable photos will be chosen by you.

  • There are no pets at The Club, but if you have a dog, we could talk about bringing him/her with you.

  • I respect all beliefs, but the club is non‑religious. We celebrate some festivals and special days in a nature‑based, inclusive way that everyone can enjoy.
